18 seems pretty clear. FD includes the metric to reach the next hop whereas AD is the metric from the next hop.

Yep Question 18 is ambiguous. Needs to be rewritten for clarification as we know nothing about the cost to the next hop routers. This value may be different on each interface. Good questions otherwise.

MTU won't be considered when calculating the metric. It is advertised, but not used in the metric formula.

    Hi,

    Question 12

"Which five criteria may be considered by EIGRP when calculating the metric? (Choose five.)"

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the MTU is a part of the metric calculation. It does only include Bandwidth, Load, Delay, Reliability..

    256*((K1*Bw) + (K2*Bw)/(256-Load) + (K3*Delay)*(K5/(Reliability + K4)))

    Best Regards,

    Thomas

I think question #10 is poorly written.

Of the listed, the answer should be "EIGRP topology table", as it contains all the EIGRP routes including best ones.

If you want the answer to be "IP routing table", you should change the question to "Which type of database contains only a list of the best EIGRP routes to reach a destination?" and the answer should be changed to "EIGRP routing table" as there might be other routes with lower AD preventing best EIGRP routes' installation into common IP routing table.

In the CCNP ROUTE quick reference EIGRP appears as a protocol-independent modules, but in the set #4 question 7 appears as a protocol-dependent modules.

    What is the correct answer???

PDMs are protocol dependant modules. The module used is dependant on the protocol in place. Protocol independant would imply that the module would not matter if the protocol varied. I've seen PDM defined as Protocol Independant Module in the quick reference guide and somewhere else as well. I believe it's due to EIGRP being somewhat protocol independant through protocol dependant modules.

I liked this one! EIGRP is the best!

I think this just a matter of interpreting the question.? What it is getting at is that EIGRP has lots of bolt-on modules, each for a different routed protocol.? That is, each of these bolt-on modules serves one routed protocol - and it expresses that (badly perhaps) as "protocol-dependent modules".

Actually, that is probably not the question's fault.? I remember reading that expression somewhere else ... either in the documentation or in the official course material.

Question 7. I thought that EIGRP was protocol independent. But according to this exam EIGRP is protocol dependent.

According to the marking, I only got one question wrong (#18), but the engine gave me only 24/26.? I hope the real exam can add up properly!
